Okay, I missed a memo. How'd a fanfic script get on the Nebula ballot? I thought it had to be a professional credit for that?
Doesn't it count because Mark Zicree is a professional writer with pro credits, even if the show isn't *produced* by pros?
Doesn't a professional script usually require the writer being paid? Fan films are no different from fanfic, no matter who the writer is. No money can be made off the product, which means the writer can't be paid. How can it then be a professional credit by SFWA rules? :cue raised eyebrow:

I mean, leaving this on the ballot really kicks open the door to fanfic making the Nebula ballot in the future. Is that a door that really should be opened, especially if fanfic writers can't join SFWA?
Sorry you guys didn't make it on, amigo. Next time around, right?
Interesting bunch, as always. Hoping Blink wins for script. Sorta glad that a SF outisider like Chabon made the ballot, even though I have seen a lot about his book (and its politics) that makes think I will hate it.
My review of The Yiddish Policemen's Union opened with "I do not recommend it" and includes "Reading this novel was a soul-grinding experience." While I couldn't put it down, I wished I had.
sorry that you weren't nomiated. Obviously the committee suffers from recto-cranial inversion.
FYI, you should read this post from Keith DeCandido. I suspect you will be getting a lot of this.
Very sorry to hear that you weren't on the final ballot. :P
...and slightly frightening to realize how many of them I HAVEN'T read. Bad me. ;)
I can never understand why there are no Analog stories...
