Personal Life Update

Okay, where to begin?

I haven't had a chance to post much on this blog; in particular, I've fallen behind on my discussion of Robert's Rules of Writing, which I really want to get back to as soon as possible. The main issue was deadlines for some works of fiction and nonfiction that I had to meet. Fortunately, I seem to have come through them okay, which would imply that it's now time to resume some of my more involved blogging.

Except that Wednesday night begins the Jewish holiday of Passover.

For those of you unfamiliar with the holiday, and interested in knowing more about it, I refer you to the webpage Judasim 101: Pesach: Passover But one of the main things we must do before this holiday is clean, and so we've been cleaning our apartment all day. This is in addition to dealing with all the other stuff in our lives...

(For those who want to know why we clean, but don't want to read the whole page over at Judasim 101, here's what I said last year about cleaning for Passover.)

Anyway, I know I haven't really discussed much in the way of writing, or science fiction, or comic books (who didn't see the end of Infinite Crisis #6 coming?) over the past few weeks. I'll try to get back to a little bit of blogging over the next few days, but then I'll be offline for the beginning of the holiday, and then offline again for the end of the holiday and a trip to Ravencon.

So, you're going to be at Ravencon too?

Cool, I'm looking forward to seeing you there. First round is on me.
One of the reasons gnomi and I are looking forward to Ravencon is for the chance to meet people we wouldn't normally meet otherwise, here in the northeast. So we're looking forward to seeing you there!
Um, the last I.C. I saw was #5... did I miss one? (It's been hard b/c S. usually picks up our comics, and Ben is supposed to be pulling I.C. for me, but he keeps forgetting.)
IC #6 came out last week. But there are most likely still plenty of copies available.
Huh. I stopped in there Friday to see if anything came in, and the guy at the counter (not Ben - haven't seen him before) said there was nothing in our folder. I checked the New Arrivals list on the wall before I left and didn't see I.C. listed. Must've missed it somehow, I'll have to try and get back over there. Thanks for the alert!
It might have been Ryan at the counter.

Infinite Crisis is one of those books of which they have published plenty. They know there'll be a market in back issues for it in twenty years, when they publish "Infinite Zero Crisis Hour on Infinite Earths."
There's something to look forward to...
No need for apologies for your silence; work and observance come first.

May you and your family have a blessed holiday.
Man, talk about cleaning. This morning, walking to the subway (Monday is garbage day in our neighborhood), the piles in front of the Jewish houses were enormous! Furniture, lamps, massive boxes, small appliances; all manner of things that aren't normally thrown out. They're definitely on a cleaning binge in Midwood.

Happy Passover (now if only I can sit through tonight's lame-looking remake of The Ten Commandments)....
(now if only I can sit through tonight's lame-looking remake of The Ten Commandments)....

Why are you planning to watch it? Just curious.
I guess because it's the season; it doesn't feel like Passover with The Ten Commandments on tv, and since they're not showing the "real" version, this is the one I'll get. On the grumpy side of the equation, I just realized it's a two-parter (part two is on tomorrow night). Oh well, I'll tune in with an open mind and give them a chance to impress me, but no Charleton Heston? No Yul Brynner? No Edward G. Robinson? I'm gonna miss them.
