Short Story Sale: The Wizard's Legacy

I am pleased to announce that I have sold a fantasy short story, "The Wizard's Legacy," to the anthology Heroes in Training, edited by Jim C. Hines and to be published by DAW Books in 2007.

With gnomi's help, I have crafted the narration for the movie trailer. As you read the following, imagine it's being read aloud by either Don LaFontaine or Hal Douglas.

"When the kingdom's wizard chooses two apprentices, thirteen-year-old Edmund, the son of an innkeeper, must prove himself worthy of the title. But is the second apprentice, a Duke's son, more worthy? Or is he a threat to Edmund? The final battle, facing off against a magical attack from the east, will determine Edmund's fate once and for all."
