Words of the Year

For those of you who are interested, I see that lexicographer harmless_drudge has posted her thoughts about the 2008 Words of the Year, which are:

New Oxford American Dictionary: hypermiling
Webster's New World Dictionary: overshare
Merriam-Webster: bailout
American Dialect Society: bailout

My own, brief thought? Bailout is too obvious a choice. I'd go with Blagojevich. :-)

I'd go with Blagojevich. :-)

I'd love to see it used in a sentence.... :)
"Man, I totally Blagojeviched that job interview."
This is blagojeviching golden. You don't blagojeviching give something like this to the first blagojevicher who comes along. You have to see what the blagojeviching market will bear. And if noone will blagojeviching pony up what I want, I'll blagojeviching appoint myself.

speaking as a chicagoan/illini

the actual made-up verb used around here is simply "to blago." (BLAY-go, even though his name is shortened to BLAH-go when talking about him--or such has been my observation)

as in, we've been blagoed.

Nah, too hard to spell.
Rich is so happy that you shared his Blagojevich compulsion and ability to bring it up in every part of conversation...
Tell him I thought of him as I posted.
