An Unexpected Day Off

So I arrive at the office this morning and find that the power grid has been shut down in most of Copley Square due to manhole explosions in the theater district. They sent us home.

I know there are many other things I could be doing today, but I think I'll spend much of the day reading.

Yep, the Arlington Street office got sent home too.
You lucky, lucky dogs! Maybe something will explode near Brandeis...
I see you've discovered the LJ app for the iPhone. Have fun reading!
will you be coming down to NY for the SFWA reception? I'm catching the train up in about two hours.
No, sadly we won't be there. Have fun!

In New York for the Authors/Editors Reception, I spent the day at the Museum of Natural History and had a nice discussion of the planetude of Pluto with Neil de Grasse Tyson, whom I bumped into in the hall.

Re: Unrelated

That is so awesome.

Re: Unrelated

We met him when he spoke at the Boston Museum of Science a few years ago. He's a genuinely nice guy who has still maintained his childhood sense of wonder.

What did you say? What did he say? Post on your LJ!
While you are enjoying free time, your humble employee is hard at work.

;-)
Thank you, humble employee. :-)
I think reading is a PERFECTLY good thing to be doing. Though coming over and helping with my sink would have been even better...
Had I but known...
